Content Operations Manager
We are seeking a Content Operations Manager to be responsible for the management of all operational activities for clients.

This will include Media Management, Editorial Compliance, Versioning, Post-Production, Localisation and delivery.

Purpose of the role
Based in London, TVT’s Content Delivery Team prepares content for broadcast and on-demand services for a numerous channels and multiple clients. This full-time post is an important one within an expert team.

Reporting to the Head of Content Operations the candidate will be responsible for the overall management of all operational activities for one or more clients including end to end Media Management, Editorial Compliance, Versioning, Post-Production, Localisation and delivery.

Alternatively, the role may oversee TVT software as a service (SaaS) platforms for clients. The Operations Manager acts as the main point of contact for the client(s), attending routine meetings, reporting on performance, building the relationship and managing any incidents or requests.

Working closely with other teams, the role takes the lead on ensuring operational excellence and constant development, acting as key stakeholder for changes/projects. The role may also line manage Media Coordinators.

Principal Accountabilities:
  • Leads the delivery of services to the clients (e.g. end-to-end media management, metadata capture and enrichment, post-production, transcode, localisation, delivery, or software as a service) ensuring operational excellence at all times. Accountable for meeting or exceeding client expectations and producing routine reports.
  • Develops, manages and maintains excellent relationships with existing and future customers, obtaining regular positive feedback on satisfaction levels, seeking to consistently improve the quality of the service. 
  • Attends client meetings, develops relationships that support new revenue and profit streams.
  • Develops, manages and maintains excellent relationships with colleagues at all levels, integrates well into teams. Demonstrates excellent communication skills and emotional intelligence with others. 
  • Works closely with clients, suppliers and content owners to address any exceptions or issues, deepening TVTs engagement and extending the services delivered to existing clients.
  • Understands and is intimately familiar with the client contracts in order to ensure delivery meets or exceeds requirements, is in line with agreed specifications and timelines, and all reporting is referenced to agreed service levels.
  • Understands and documents TVT workflows, software and systems in detail, including details of interfaces and hand-offs with clients and other third parties.
  • Works with colleagues to balance utilisation of shared resources effectively to ensure deadlines are met across all clients.
  • Leads the operational teams, providing new-starter inductions, coaching, development and succession planning. 
  • Delivers professional line-management to engage and motivate teams. 
  • Recruits the best talent and builds high-calibre teams with the skills and capabilities to meet requirements.
  • Works closely with Finance to ensure invoicing and payments are managed in an accurate and timely fashion, mindful of contractual requirements and ensuring operational variances which impact billing are clearly communicated and recorded. 
  • Manages the Operations budget within the approved levels in consultation with the Head of Content Operations.
  • Presents to internal and external audiences in a professional manner which builds confidence in TVT.
  • Delivers training to internal and external users of TVT’s systems, clearly explaining the software, workflows and benefits. 
  • Produces and maintains training & induction guides and systems & workflow diagrams. 
  • Contributes to the Health & Safety and regulatory compliance of the organisation by identifying and correcting or escalating any matters of concern appropriately.
  • Along with the Head of Content Operations, shares accountability for the security of the content and data held on TVT systems belonging to TVT and the clients.
  • Ensure Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans are in place and well understood. 
  • Creates and reviews the plan to ensure the needs of the business are met and align with TVT strategy.
  • Contributes to proposals for existing or potential new clients. Work with the Management Team to make sure any new proposals take account of existing business and workflows.
  • Supporting the sales team - meets and presents to potential new clients.
  • Contributes to the TVT Marketing and Press team activities by highlighting news and changes and helping draft releases.
  • Identifies commercial and operational opportunities presented by new technologies or ways of working and presents recommendations to drive efficiency or profit.

About You
Experience, Knowledge & Skills required:
  • Demonstrable operations experience within a media organisation (including media management, video file encoding and transcoding, localisation/transcoding, post production, localisation, secure file transfer, VOD/non-linear preparation and delivery) is essential.
  • Experience of playout and operation of non-linear and streaming services and of delivering media-related software as a service platforms is desirable.
  • Must have a demonstrable focus on operational detail, but able to operate within the overall strategic perspective and communicate effectively at all levels internally and externally.
  • Excellent customer and supplier management skills are essential – maintains collaborative but professional and transparent relationships with third parties.
  • Must have excellent people-management and interpersonal relationship skills with proven ability to lead and manage direct reports and contribute across teams at all levels.
  • Experience of contributing to operational media projects (e.g. channel or product launches, re-brands, delivery of translation services) using software and workflows in a global media company is desirable.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and a personal network in the industry and has an understanding of the opportunities for media companies in a digital age is desirable.
  • Excellent volume and metrics forecasting, monitoring and record keeping is essential. 
  • Must be able to professionally present a complex picture in a clear and compelling way.
  • Knowledge of competitors and networks in the media market is an advantage.

  • Benefits: Salary range of £50,00 to £55000 depending on experience
  • Hours of work: Normally Monday to Friday office hours, but out of hours working may be required to fulfil occasional customer requirements.
