Brand Manager – Dave
We are seeking a Brand Manager to have marketing ownership for campaigns across UKTV's high profile flagship brand Dave

You will manage & take joint responsibility for delivering impacts across whole brand / programme marketing campaigns; in collaboration with the Senior Marketing Manager. 


The Marketing team is responsible for advancing UKTV's growth and popularity. The Marketing team includes Marketing, Creative, Media and Planning. The award-winning team devises effective, efficient and innovative marketing strategies for the network and its brands. UKTV's Marketing team has contributed to the network's strong market share and revenue growth, and to the happiness of millions of fans throughout the nation.



What you will do in this role:

You will have marketing ownership for designated campaigns across UKTV's high profile flagship brand Dave. You will manage & take joint responsibility for delivering impacts across whole brand and programme marketing campaigns in collaboration with the Senior Marketing Manager. 

Typical areas of ownership include programme trailers across the UKTV network and all elements of the external media mix.  You will get to build bespoke marketing plans from brief through to post campaign analysis, and lead agency teams.


Key Responsibilities:

  • You will inspire and collaborate with agency teams to deliver their best most innovative work for channel Dave
  • You will draw on strategy and insight to build strong bespoke marketing plans
  • You will conduct analysis - including post campaign analysis and brand dashboards
  • You will be digitally savvy with a strong understanding for key social platforms
  • You will already be immersed in the media and digital landscape, knowledgeable about trends and have opinions and recommendations to optimise creative and execution
  • You will get to be the champion of the consumer in the business, partnering with Insight and creative planning functions to deliver insight-led marketing campaigns
  • You will get to initiate research & use available data sources to monitor on-going performance, identify issues & opportunities and recommend courses of action. In this role you will be expected to develop a track record of turning data and insights into clear briefs and implications that drive growth
  • You will ensure legal & regulatory compliance for all areas of direct responsibility (marketing plan elements / competition / creative work)
  • You will be a key source of creative input day to day, in cross-functional project teams, leading key marketing projects and driving cross functional collaboration & communication; (including presentations to senior managers, in key decision making forums).
  • You will have input into strategic thinking for brand planning and positioning
  • You will own the delivery of the brand's Key Performance Indicators (KPI) targets
  • You will track and report marketing spend for brand / programme marketing campaigns and manage the marketing budget closely in collaboration with the Finance Team.
  • You will lead, motivate and coach the Dave Assistant Brand Manager, ensuring the completion of appraisals, supporting the development and execution of Personal Development Plans (PDP's).


The Ideal Candidate

Complexity & Problem Solving:

  • You will be comfortable managing multiple high-profile marketing campaigns at an incredibly fast pace (approx. 6 off air campaigns per year / 60 on air promos)
  • You will lead multiple projects / priorities concurrently, and manages time accordingly, to ensure consistent delivery of results.
  • We will expect you to anticipates issues and escalate to senior management in a timely fashion to make the best decisions / priority calls for Dave.

Managing Relationships:

  • You will be able to build productive working relationships internally & externally, managing agencies to deliver trust, confidence and ability to deliver the relevant elements of the plan
  • You will already be able to collaborate & build personal relationships across key internal functions critical to role (e.g. Research)
  • You are comfortable working with well-known talent, agencies, commissioning team and creative departments and are a great listener who is able to build and leverage trusting relationships to deliver high quality results
  • You will be able to harness team spirit across UKTV and collaborate with colleagues across the business to deliver successful programmes.

Business Impact / Strategic Responsibility:

  • In this role, you will have full project / campaign management, with oversight from line manager; having a direct impact on consumer attitudes & behaviour through the impact of campaigns
  • You will be autonomous in your role
  • You will have the ability to effectively brief & manage marketing activities across all elements of the marketing mix
  • You will have the opportunity to make a significant contribution in the development of strategic brand planning.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • You will already have experience in a similar marketing role in TV
  • You will have people management experience, either leading a team or coaching/mentoring someone in the business
  • You will already have a thorough understanding & significant first-hand experience of the role & relative effectiveness of different media / marketing disciplines. Proven ability to develop bespoke media strategies and 360 degree marketing campaigns across the full mix; working with media agencies
  • You know how to take a proactive and flexible approach to work and are comfortable with a dynamic environment with constantly changing priorities
  • You have experience of successfully managing and controlling budgets effectively
  • You have in depth experience with relationship management and have strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across a number of departments and services
  • You have meticulous organisation and project management skills
  • You have strong IT and presentation skills
