IT Systems Engineer
We’re looking for an IT Systems Engineer to manage and monitor all installed IT systems and infrastructure.

ABOUT THE ROLE


Responsibilities:

  • Ability to diagnose IT Infrastructure related issues, articulate and working on the same. Administer L1 activities on the desk computers, mobile computers, Server and Network Infrastructure. Ability to comprehend and work with remote L2 teams for effective resolution.
  • Install, configure, test and maintain Windows and Linux flavour operating systems, application software and system management tools. An understanding of Applications working, architecture, Linux basic fundamentals is good to have while windows skills is a must.
  • Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability. Managing Client and Escalation communication effectively and timely.
  • Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with on-site & off-site teams to implement those fixes
  • Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
  • Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks.
  • Participate in the design of information and operational support systems.
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
  • Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organisational policy.

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE


Requirements:

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
  • 3+ years’ experience in system engineering and IT support required
  • Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting Windows/Mac OSX/UNIX /Linux based environments.
  • Solid networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)
  • Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation
  • Experience with virtualization and containerization (e.g., VMware, Virtual Box)
  • Experience with monitoring systems
  • Scripting experience (e.g., shell scripts, Perl, Ruby, Python)
  • Cloud knowledge advantageous (Azure/AWS)
  • Ability to work in a cross domain culture
  • Ability to prepare the work reports and circulating to stakeholders and reviewing Service Levels with them.
  • Even though the work hours are standard 40 hrs but during any emergency bug fixing and resolution the working hours can be extended.
