IT Systems Engineer

We now have an excellent opportunity for a talented IT systems engineer to join our operations team and support the growth of systems as we scale our remote operation.
THE ROLE

Summary:
You will be responsible for solution design, high-level detailed design work, and implementation of infrastructure services, ensuring the smooth running of key systems through proactive monitoring and a program of continual improvement. 

The role will entail a mix of day-to-day support, management, and maintenance of infrastructure systems along with working project work to enhance our existing technology operations.

Areas of Responsibility:
  • Administer networks, firewalls, physical and virtual infrastructure platforms
  • Managing incidents, requests, changes and problems
  • Design and develop technical solutions and methods for delivery
  • Implement and configure new technology infrastructure, systems and services
  • Carry out project tasks relating to technology systems
  • Ensure quality through deployment planning, QA and testing
  • Provide documentation and handover to operations support personnel.

Details:
  • SalaryFull Time and dependant on experience
  • Responsible to: CEO 
  • Hours of Work: 9.30 am to 6.30 pm, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week - flexible approach as out of hours work is a requirement given the nature of the role.
  • Location: a combination of home working and at our locations as required.

PERSON PROFILE

Essential requirements:
  • Able to demonstrate strong technical skills in Windows Server 2012, Linux RHEL, Ubuntu Server.
  • Experience of cloud-based Software-as-a-Service applications: JumpCloud Directory-as-a-service, Ceta, Duo, Teradici CAM, Dashlane
  • Experience of virtualization technologies: VMware ESXi and Windows Hyper-V and other cloud-based virtualization technologies
  • Experience of AWS administration, including S3, EC2 and IAM roles
  • Extensive network support experience with strong technical knowledge of routers, switches, security devices and IP networking fundamentals, protocols and concepts
  • Experience of SAN / NAS / archive / HSM in enterprise environments
  • Experience of desktop platforms, including Windows 10 and MacOS.
  • Experience of administrating Windows server and services (AD, SSO, MFA, DHCP, DNS, IIS, Clustering, DFS, GPO, etc.).

Desirable:
  • Experience of scripting for automation, using PowerShell, bash, python, etc.
  • Experience of software configuration management systems
  • Experience in video and audio in Broadcast, Production or Post Production environments.
  • Working knowledge of database and database fundamentals
  • Knowledge of ITIL v3 service management, particularly incident, problem and change management
  • API integration and management
  • Certification VCP, CCNA, JNCP, MCSA.
