International Business Coordinator
A full-time position for an International Business Coordinator at the heart of a dynamic, fast-paced, and senior team of a successful global business.

OBJECTIVE AND SCOPE OF THE ROLE

This is a full-time position for an International Business Coordinator at the heart of a dynamic, fast-paced, and senior team of a successful global business. It would suit someone with four or five years’ experience of television distribution or broadcast acquisition. 


Reporting to the Managing Director, International, the role will work with Motion’s slate of television shows as well as third party IP to help grow the business across Australia, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, CEE and parts of Europe as well as supporting the business across APAC as required. 


The role will liaise regularly with other Motion departments, including Distribution, Legal, Finance and Marketing and will include any other administrative duties that may arise from being part of a busy team.  Due to the global nature of Motions’ business, some out of hours work is possible.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working with the MD International to help develop content opportunities with new and existing broadcast partners in the territories listed above;
  • Research for meetings, materials and business development – including programme availabilities and general research into markets, companies, trends;
  • Creating and maintaining detailed spreadsheets tracking pitches and negotiation status to ensure all content related opportunities are pursued effectively;
  • Reading and understanding contractual agreements;
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with network buyers and production partners;
  • Putting together detailed packages relating to the specific needs of individual clients and partners, including creating and updating materials for PowerPoint presentations;
  • Any other administrative duties that may arise from being part of a busy team including logging programming ideas presented to the MD International;
  • Maintain business tracker reports for bi-weekly global management meetings;
  • Attend regional routine meetings;
  • Coordinate IP related projects as required, for instance overseeing the translation of local language show reels.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Relevant experience of working in a media environment, preferably TV programme distribution with interest in the TV and digital distribution business;
  • Understanding of TV programme and distribution with a passion for content and a desire to increase knowledge;
  • A high level of organisation and the ability to multitask, set priorities and meet deadlines whilst maintaining a high level of attention to detail;
  • Good research abilities;
  • Experience of working with contracts and legal documents;
  • Excellent communication skills with a high level of diplomacy with both internal and external contacts;
  • Ability to work some irregular hours including occasional emails at weekends on an ad hoc basis;
  • Proactive, enthusiastic and confident.

 

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 4-5 yrs' experience working within a TV distribution business or broadcast in sales or acquisition; Experience of working with contracts and legal documents;
  • Highly numerate and computer literate (Advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
  • English essential. Fluent Spanish would be a distinct advantage but not a requirement; Other languages desirable.
