Senior Technical Storeman

Our teams are growing!  Timeline Television has an exciting opportunity to bring on board Senior Technical Storemen based at our Greenford warehouse.

About the Role

Timeline TV requires a Senior Technical Storeman to help manage a diverse holding of broadcast equipment in our busy stores, providing equipment to projects for external and internal clients.

It is business critical to maintain an orderly and well-organised environment in the warehouse. This role will play an important part in meeting that objective.

We are looking for people with the right skills to work in this fast-paced and important role.

Main Duties:

  • Keeping the warehouse clean and tidy, ensuring that everything has a place and is correctly stored. Helping to foster a culture of tidiness and order in all users of the building.
  • Working closely with OB project managers to ensure OB trucks are correctly and promptly loaded.
  • Ensuring that OB trucks are unloaded, cleaned and prepared for next assignment.
  • Ensuring that hired equipment is efficiently processed, checked and returned, checking carefully that hired items are returned complete and in good order.
  • Liaising with operational staff to ensure that equipment is suitably boxed.
  • Managing the warehouse spaces, including the parking of vehicles inside for loading and maintenance.
  • Responding promptly to urgent requirements from all parts of Timeline.
  • Being prepared to work 12-hour shifts, weekends and on occasions, outside normal business hours.
  • The above is just a brief outline of duties, but can change according to business requirements. You may be given additional projects and workloads from the management, and you will be expected to comply with all reasonable requests.

Candidate Profile


Knowledge, Skills & Experience

The successful candidate should possess the following:

  • A good basic technical knowledge of TV broadcast equipment.
  • Physical fitness, and an ability to lift and handle heavy items throughout the shift.
  • An ability to handle heavy cable, winding on drums and loose.
  • A methodical mind and a basic level of computer skills.
  • A logical approach to problem solving.
  • A high level of motivation and an enthusiastic approach.
  • An ability to work within a team with shared responsibilities.
  • Willingness to adapt to the unique nature of the broadcasting business.
  • A UK driving licence and willingness to drive a 3.5t van to move equipment.
  • Preferably, a LGV licence.
  • Preferably, previous experience in a similar role in the broadcast industry or experience in hiring technical equipment for a medium to large-sized company.
  • Preferably, experience of working in a comparable stores operation.

  • 5 GCSEs (including Maths & English) or equivalent.
