About the Role

You will:

  • Undertake commercial negotiations and review commercial considerations relating to Sky Studios’ original content deals in the UK. As part of the Sky Studios team, you will help deliver its growth strategy and ambitions to bring to screen the best stories from the best talent
  • Be involved with projects at an early stage and will identify potential commercial and business issues to ensure projects are structured to deliver on Sky Studios’ key business objectives
  • Negotiate commercial terms for the commissioning of independent producers on Sky Original series
  • Facilitate multi-party financing arrangements on co-productions, including co-ordinating deals with key international partners and distributors to ensure successful completion and delivery
  • Help evolve and implement a range of production models, from in-house production to co-production with independent producers and other creative talent, working in partnership with the best writing and producing talent in the business
  • Be part of a talented creative and commercial Sky Studios team, working collaboratively with and advising colleagues on key business and commercial issues, and delivering effective solutions
  • Collaborate with production and finance teams to approve budget and finance plans, and identify and manage production risks.


About You


You’ll have:

  • Proven experience in content commissioning and/or production in the television industry in a similar role, e.g. at a producer or broadcaster
  • Experience in scripted content, including pertinent matters such as financing, tax credits and distribution
  • Excellent deal-making, negotiating, analytical, problem solving, written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Sound commercial and business acumen and judgement
  • The ability to be proactive and taking the initiative
  • The aptitude to work to tight time-frames across multiple projects, remaining calm and focused on delivering effective solutions
  • A legal qualification is helpful, but not essential depending on other experience.
