Programme Director, Marketing & Communications
Amnesty International’s Programme Director Marketing and Communications will inspire and empower people to connect with each other and act to defend human rights. 

Location: London (N.B.: It may be possible for the post-holder to work from a different location if the candidate is based in a country/territory with an Amnesty International Secretariat office and we are in a position to hire an employee in that location - please see our worldwide office locations.


About the Role:

Amnesty International’s Programme Director Marketing and Communications, based at the International Secretariat of the world’s largest human rights movement, will inspire and empower people to connect with each other and act to defend human rights. 

The role shapes public opinion for freedom, justice and equality and helps Amnesty grow. The programme works for Amnesty’s national entities to be relevant to events, issues and conversations taking place around the world day-to-day. It uses the best of audience insights and creativity to inspire people to believe that their world can be better and that they should take action to achieve this. 

The Marketing and Communications Programme tells the Amnesty brand story and enhances our brand recognition. It defends the organization, and the human rights project itself, from attack. It acts as a hub and service centre for the Amnesty International movement’s communications and marketing community, setting joint priorities, sharing best practice, and bringing together talents to collaborate across our structures.


Salary: £71,541

About You:

With established leadership in driving social change and demonstrable expertise in the field of global communications and marketing, you will have a deep and practical knowledge of shaping public opinion for positive change and brand growth.

A highly advanced communicator with excellent written skills in English (with an additional language as a plus) you will have significant experience of designing and implementing a research-based approach to promoting human rights in a fast-changing global communications environment, and will have had demonstrable success in digital transformation for engagement and growth.
