Product Owner

We are looking for an individual to drive the product development and continuous optimisation of our Metadata Tool. 


You'll need a passion for digital products, the TV and Film industry and its future development.

About us:

Visual Data have offices in London, Los Angles and Bangalore. We are heavily involved in digital media. We ingest, post, process, localize and deliver thousands of premium TV programs and films to broadcasters and high-profile video on demand platforms globally.


We are also the safe custodians of our clients' intellectual property. With a strong focus on media asset management (SaaS) and internal automation we’re looking for the right person to orchestrate our business systems to elevate our company into the top tier of global media supply chain.

 

About the role:

The role is primarily concerned with full engagement with stakeholders, assessing the value of their requirements, and deciding their priority for development. Post development cycles, the Product Owner will launch and own the delivered sprints, including bug fixes and change requests.

 

About you:

You will have experience of collecting user stories, listening to user requirements, and translating them into documentation that forms the basis for internal or external developers to work from. 


You will have an eye for UX/design and be able to brief the chosen suppliers in effective usability.

 

Areas of responsibility

  • Own the product life-cycle, including discovery, planning, delivery, product acceptance, and operational handover
  • Based on increments of value, manage a backlog of product ideas, define product requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Monitor the status of ongoing work and articulate progress, dependencies, and risks to the stakeholders
  • Lead product meetings, workshops, and sprint demos
  • Provide product training to Operations and Client Services
  • Raise and track issues with our developers; providing additional information when needed, and validating solutions when provided
  • Create and maintain test scripts
  • Stay on top of industry changes, learning what may have a direct impact on our product
  • Help to improve automation, working with both Business Systems and Operations to streamline the Digital Media Supply Chain for both colleagues and clients.

 

Essential skills:

  • Have a passion for digital products, the TV and Film industry and its future development
  • Have a strong knowledge of Digital Supply Chain and Workflows
  • Be a problem solver, capable of driving a user-centered approach to product discovery and development
  • Be comfortable determining which features or enhancements we should develop, and interacting directly with users
  • Be familiar with coding technologies and development
  • Be highly computer literate
  • Have bug testing experience and the ability to document for remediation.

Reporting to: Director of Global Business Systems

Location: 316-318 Latimer Road, London, W10 6QN

Working Hours: Monday – Friday 09.00 – 18.00.  40 hours/week. Some out of hours/overtime maybe required
