Scripted Workflow Manager [C5206]

THE COMPANY

Our client is a major international production & post-production services group, with an impressive range of blue-chip clients. The group has particular strength in high-end scripted drama

THE ROLE

Expert and thorough planning is the key to success in large scale, high-end projects and our client attaches great important to this position.

The role is involved in each production from start to finish, so you will assist with creating the original quotes based on deliverables and specifications – and then in workflow planning discussions with the production team (including DOP and DIT) regarding dailies, LUTs, backups, framing, uploads and colour pipeline.

Ultimately you will be expected to prepare a detailed workflow and colour pipeline set-up  for each production, using  flowcharts and graphics where necessary to facilitate universal comprehension. You’ll also script basic tasks to assist with conform, verification and archival.

You’ll be involved in set-up and testing of all technical aspects of conform, grade, audio, online and delivery, and you’ll ensure VFX vendors  are in synch. 

Other aspects of the role include:
  • Troubleshooting problem camera formats, colour spaces, metadata, file errors
  • QC of camera rushes and program masters, and assisting with QC notes
  • Internal staff training, presentations
  • Research on emerging technologies, software updates, industry and broadcaster specs.

THE PERSON

To succeed in this role you must have in-depth, extensive knowledge of all aspects of this role, as described above. If you had to Google any of the terminology, then the role probably isn’t for you. 

You must have a talent for collaboratively creating workflows, and an interest in designing new and innovative processes.

Core qualities needed include good communications skills with the ability to translate complex technical procedures clearly, concisely and in accessible language to others - including those without a technical background.
