VP, TV Sales & Business Strategy – UK [A5208]
A superb opportunity for an experienced TV sales professional to join a leading studio in its international distribution business.

This key role will focus on the UK & Ireland markets.
The COMPANY

Our client is an international studio with a strong track record producing and distributing some of the world’s top movies and tv series. Their international distribution business is responsible for licensing their feature films and television series to broadcasters, platforms and streaming services. 

The ROLE

Reporting to the London based SVP, the successful candidate is responsible for television licensing, covering film and TV series in both traditional and new media. You will lead negotiations with major clients in the UK and Ireland, driving increased revenues for the region through both windowing and short-term deals. 

The role also requires the successful candidate to research and develop a business strategy to recognise the changing distribution landscape – in particular focusing on the Pay 1 ( post theatrical release) window. 

As the leader for the major UK & Ireland region, you will own the sales budget, managing a small team of direct reports where you are expected to mentor and develop their skills.

Specific responsibilities include:
  • Structuring ambitious budget targets and implementing strategy for UK & ROI business in line with overall global strategy; 
  • Taking responsibility for long term annual/quarterly sales budget and growing revenues; 
  • Responsible for all aspects of sophisticated commercial negotiations to achieve strong licence fees and terms from the market;
  • Foster excellent profile of the company and maintain critical day-to-day relationships with respective TV and digital clients as well as senior stakeholders within their businesses and identify new customers for relevant products. 
  • Maintain regular contact with licensees through correspondence, regular in person meetings and planned events and attendance at key programming markets. Conduct regular sales visits to designated territories/offices and accompany senior executives on trips. 

The PERSON

You will have extensive experience delivering sales growth within distribution (either content or platform side ) and be comfortable leading both window and short-term deal negotiations – in particular for the Pay 1 window. 

It’s expected you will have strong understanding of the UK & Irish markets with a network of contacts at major clients (ideally SVOD and premium Pay TV operators).

An understanding of deal analysis and modelling is crucial to determine the long-term value of content – experience in sales planning earlier in your career is preferred.
