Legal & Business Affairs Exec – TV & Film Production [O5415]
This is an opportunity to build on your experience in the legal aspects of content production with a leading international producer / distributor.

Considerable relevant experience (and basic legal training – e.g., law degree) are essential for this role.

Our client is a leading entertainment company producing 20+ films each year, along with hundreds of hours of high end TV. The company operates internationally through its international subsidiaries.

This role is within the company’s Legal & Business Affairs department, and is part of the team dealing with international production and acquisitions. The role reports directly to the European-based department head.

You will be primarily  responsible for drafting, negotiating and revising a variety of agreements and documents in connection with international film and series production as well as contributing to other tasks handled by the department (including but not limited to international content acquisitions and remake/sequels agreements).

Other tasks will include:
  • Review, guidance and negotiation of clearances and music licenses agreements with clearance companies/music supervisors
  • Review and guidance on signatory process with guilds with detailed understanding of collective bargaining agreements (mainly US and US guilds for production and music)
  • Conduct legal review of main/end titles and creative materials and related marketing materials in connection with international productions and acquisitions
  • In case of disputes, analyse the issues at stake, drafting initial letters and then cease and desist letters. Prepare the litigation memo and pertaining documentation for our outside US and/or UK counsels as applicable and following all proceedings with them.

To succeed in this role you must have considerable expertise in dealing with the contracts / agreements and production matters as described above – either in a law firm or a production company.

This experience is more important than professional qualifications – although some form of formal legal training will be looked upon favourably.

An attractive, competitive salary is available for the successful candidate.
