Director of Merchandising (Planning & Forecasting)

The Opportunity

Reporting to the VP of Merchandising and Planning, You will lead a team of commerce focused disciplines whose main purpose is to meet budgetary expectations of gross orders, product profitability and inventory, on all QVC Platforms (All TV Channels & Digital) through the optimization and management of product and promotion. The Director is also responsible for overseeing commercial planning and forecasting working closely with the Finance division.

Your Impact:

• You will improve supporting processes to increase productivity, reduce costs or improve time management within the division. Some examples include Business Strategy Workflow, TSV process, Inventory Planning process, current planning processes

• You'll manage the development of the tools that support these processes, in addition to influencing the development of IT systems and platforms (e.g. PIM, EPS)

• You will also improve the multi-platform planning tool and capabilities development, and use of smart support to lead efficiency eg advanced analytics, RPA and AI

• You will lead a team of multiple disciplines of Merchandise Planning, Programming and Category Planning Management

• You'll partner with the following individuals & departments:

• Merchandise Operations and Logistics – regarding inventory decisions
• IS&T – to ensure the development of systems which support the sales and execution of the department functions
• Finance – working to align commercial planning & forecasting on monthly basis and budget process
• Buying – working with Directors and team members to influence product and category commercial decisions
• Broadcasting – Category Production, Studio Operations & Guest Management
• Directors within Commerce & Platforms – to align on operational and strategic topics
• Members of the SMT – to communicate business information
• Market Leader – communication of forecasting and sales projections
• International Leader – as part of financial outlook and review processes.
