The role will help to transform technology infrastructure at Little Dot Studios Group including UK, US, Germany, APAC & subsidiaries History Hit, WING & Locowise, ensuring the effective provision of SaaS platforms and other technology solutions that meet the business needs. The ideal candidate will therefore have a deep understanding of media workflows and be an expert systems integrator.
Working closely with the Group Head of Technical Operations, you’ll be the key strategic decision-maker for technology; overseeing product selection and providing leadership to the technology team. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders from core operational teams, driving innovation and optimising for efficiency across Little Dot platforms, with a particular focus on content editing.

HOW YOU'LL SPEND YOUR TIME - Time is mostly spent on project work, but you will be a key player in service delivery by acting as a technical escalation point for support staff
- Build and maintain a secure, resilient and scalable content editing platform that provides LDS staff a seamless experience whether in office or at home
- Plan and execute the in-housing of storage and cloud compute services from existing third party provider. Full scope and timeline to be defined - but to include ingest pipeline, storage tiering, MAM, archiving and retention policy
- Lead a cultural shift towards a traditional DevOps model, enabling collaboration between operations and development; and implementing appropriate monitoring, security and compliance protocols across internal and external software products
- Collaborate effectively with the Service Delivery Lead, creating a one-team mentality. Share knowledge and best practice and provide timely support for business-critical issues!
- Manage and maintain the company's existing technology infrastructure, including servers, networks, endpoints, and software systems, to ensure optimal performance, stability, and security
- Lead technology projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and deployments, ensuring seamless integration and minimal downtime, and establishing the business’ technology needs
- Be the subject matter expert in all aspects of implemented systems; with in-depth knowledge of how they are configured, deployed and run
- Own the complete technology lifecycle, from conceptualisation to product selection to implementation, including transition to Operations and Service Delivery
- Create and maintain effective technical and operational documentation; including accurate records of technology infrastructure, configurations, and changes, and making available to relevant personnel
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior Tech Ops staff; going beyond being an escalation point to help foster the team’s professional growth
- Lastly, ensure all work carried out complies with LDS group policy and Tech Ops standard procedures / best practice.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED Skills matter, experience is useful, attitude is everything. - Excellent technical knowledge; a degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent hands on experience in a range of roles
- Ability to configure virtual environments, functional networks, servers, software
- A good understanding of IT Security (AV, Firewalls), DHCP & DNS, storage systems
- Knowledge of network engineering, network operations, and network performance analysis skills including LANs, WANs & Wireless, TCP/IP networking principles
- Proficiency with Identity and Access Management systems incl. SSO integrations (Okta preferred)
- In-depth knowledge of Google Workspace admin
- Proficient with MDM solutions (Kandji or Jamf preferred)
- Strong understanding of media production workflows and technology requirements — by extension, excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain problems and solutions in a non-technical, engaging and professional way
- Able to apply a disciplined and analytical approach to problem solving while working under pressure and to tight deadlines while maintaining rigorous attention to detail
- As the team grows over time, the role may evolve to incorporate a people management component. This will mean providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to a high-performing Technology team.
