This is an exciting role within the CRM, Data & Insights team, supporting both BBC Studios’ Kids & Family (K&F) Productions. 

PACKAGE DESCRIPTION

  • CONTRACT TYPE: 12 month Fixed Term Contract
  • LOCATION: London TVC
  • DEPARTMENT: CRM, Data & Insights
  • PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £52,000 - £57,000  on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. Plus London Weighting Allowance of £5,441. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

This is an exciting role within the CRM, Data & Insights team, supporting both BBC Studios’ Kids & Family (K&F) Productions. Bluey from a Brands & Licensing perspective and reports into the VP, Insight (K&F). The K&F business has a strong portfolio with popular shows such as Bluey and Maisy in the pre school category and Blue Peter and Crookhaven amongst older children, whilst Bluey is the #1 kids’ show in Australia, the UK and the US.


This role will look to provide insights at all stages of the content and brand lifecyle from understanding changing kids’ viewing habits, informing development of new and existing IP, performance reporting and helping further commissioning and commercial decisions. 

 

WHY JOIN THE TEAM

This role sits within COO group. We work closely with all parts of the BBC Studios business across Production and Brands & Licensing  including Development, Strategy, Title and Brand Marketing, Consumer Products and Licensing, Gaming, Digital and Content Sales. Work will be undertaken in close collaboration with other areas of Insight across BBC Studios including other members of the CRM, Data & Insights team, regional researchers and BBC Group Audiences teams.

 

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:

  • Drive key insights that will support creative and commercial decision making across the K&F production community
  • Support the creative renewal of our long running programmes (including tenders) and support the development of new IP across both preschool and 7+ kids, with a view to creating global franchise brands
  • Work in partnership with the VP of Insight, K&F, and other senior stakeholders to increase the impact BBC Studios Insights team has on the wider business
  • Be the lead on all Bluey brand insight requests including regular reporting, setting KPIs, running the global brand tracker and managing other large scale ad-hoc projects
  • Co-ordinate and prioritise insight needs from the K&F team, Bluey Global Brand team, and Brands & Licensing kids’ teams, working closely with VP of Insight K&F and junior members of the insight team
  • Manage the K&F Trends programme to ensure stakeholders are brought closer to audience trends and needs including setting up meet the audience sessions
  • Work closely with the data analysts to integrate digital data (e.g. performance of our YouTube and Facebook channels) into reporting
  • Lead the design and management of ad hoc research projects which will deliver impact for your stakeholders
  • Support the wider insights team in responding to strategic deliverables and utilise wider insights and content expertise across the total insights' community
  • Work in concert with all insight and data experts to bring to life the global voice of the complex audiences no matter the platform
  • Manage supplier relations including budget and contract management.

 

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

 

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • Proven track record in designing and delivering multi-market research programmes that influence the business – and communicating compelling stories in a relevant, creative & engaging manner
  • Good quantitative analytical skills, particularly working creatively with existing data sources/large data sets and making this a narrative 
  • Confident using industry sources and software like Techedge, Nielsen, Tubular, YouGov, Insight Family 
  • Able to build and maintain excellent relationships with internal partners, wider teams and ventures.

 

DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:

  • Experience within the Children’s market would be a bonus but not imperative
  • Experience of running qualitative groups 
  • Experience in managing a large scale brand tracker is desirable.
