About Us

Evolutions is one of the largest independent post houses in the UK with extensive facilities in Soho as well as our strong base in Bristol.  We create some of the UK’s most popular TV programmes, from Crystal Maze, to Countryfile, and Gardeners’ World, as well as many Natural History series, animations, and short form and commercial content.  

We have recently been working on multiple UHD/HDR projects and expect to see growth in this area continue, so if you have experience in these areas then we need to hear from you. 

About the Role 

The key focus of the role is to design, research and implement technical workflows for television productions from acquisition through to delivery. 

This will include liaising with clients at the first stages of production, with a view to how we carry their media through post including grade and online workflows, ensuring the client receives the technical expertise and support expected. 

A number of productions working with us have multiple global UHD, HDR deliverables to various online platforms - alongside marketing their traditional UK HD spec deliveries. Working with high data rate codecs - and helping devise end-to end workflow solutions for them - is pivotal to the role. 

The role includes management of a number of hardware and software systems that Evolutions utilises for post processes - as well as responsibility for designing, testing and distributing workflow documentation for specific productions as well as generic workflow processes. 

As a key member of the Operations team, this role will be required to be a representative of the Operations department at client attended meetings. 

About You 

Skills & Experience 

  • Proven experience in a similar technical environment. 
  • An ability to understand complex production and post production workflows. 
  • Attention to detail and a diligent approach to work are essential due to the technical nature of the role. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to deal with people at all levels of an organisation. 
  • Team player with the ability to work as a group or in isolation using their own initiative. 
  • A strong understanding of Avid Media Composer and Baselight grading system are required. 
  • Analytical with the ability to review situations and formulate pragmatic and sensible solutions to a variety of issues. 
  • Professional and pro- active with strong problem solving skills. 
  • In-depth understanding of television production and post-production associated technologies. 
  • A strong understanding of broadcast formats, codecs, rasters, frame-rates, LUTs and color pipelines. 
  • High understanding of production deliverables.
