Broadcast Venue Engineering Expert

UEFA is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Broadcast Venue Engineering Expert to support the technical delivery of live broadcast operations across its events.

Main goal

This role is suited to professionals with a strong foundation in broadcast engineering, including IP-based workflows, and proven experience in managing complex technical projects in live event environments.


Working under the supervision of the Senior Broadcast Engineer, the successful candidate will play a key role in venue planning, technical documentation, supplier coordination and proposal analysis to ensure seamless execution of broadcast services.


Key responsibilities

Venue broadcast operations & event planning:

  • Supporting the technical planning and implementation of broadcast operations at event venues, including site inspections and the preparation of venue-specific technical reports (e.g. cabling, lighting, power)
  • Designing and maintaining detailed TV compound layouts, cable routing, equipment placement, power distribution and access control
  • Liaising with suppliers, host broadcasters and internal stakeholders to ensure the timely set-up and delivery of broadcast infrastructure
  • Maintaining comprehensive and accurate documentation, including schematics, equipment inventories, access lists and workflow diagrams
  • Assisting in managing supplier logistics, including delivery timelines and on-site coordination
  • Ensuring adherence to safety regulations, technical standards and operational procedures.


Technical proposal writing & analysis:

  • Contributing to the drafting of technical service proposals, including scope definition, specifications and resource planning
  • Assisting in the creation and maintenance of UEFA’s technical documentation for broadcast systems and services
  • Developing diagrams and documentation for workflows, signal paths and system configurations
  • Supporting the evaluation of responses to RFPs and RFQs, focusing on technical feasibility, cost-effectiveness and vendor capabilities
  • Providing input to procurement and engineering teams during vendor selection and contract negotiations


Requirements

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in broadcast engineering, with a focus on venue-based operations
  • Strong technical expertise in video and audio engineering, including signal flow, encoding and decoding, synchronisation and fault diagnosis
  • In-depth understanding of broadcast transmission systems, IP workflows, and AV infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in technical layout design using tools such as AutoCAD, Visio, or equivalent.
  • Some experience desired of experience in live event planning, including technical scheduling and resource coordination
  • Familiarity with non-linear broadcast environments, including post-production and media asset management systems.


Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in broadcast engineering, electrical engineering, media technology or a related discipline.


Languages:

  • English: proficient
