VP Theatrical Sales, North America [C5226]

Take full ownership of delivering the annual North America revenue target, leading strategy, driving theatrical and festival sales, and shaping the future of this film distribution business while sharing in the rewards of success.

THE COMPANY

Our client is a globally recognised Theatrical and Home Entertainment distributor of Classic and Repertory films, distributing the back catalogues of major Hollywood, British and French studios.

 

THE ROLE

As VP Sales, you will have overall accountability for delivery of the annual North America revenue target.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Seek out and develop new business opportunities to licence classic films to cinema exhibitors and festivals
  • Track planning and sales progress for key classic film re-releases
  • Attend North American film markets and festivals as required to meet with clients
  • Manage relationships with key existing exhibitor and festival clients
  • Using the Booking and Rights Management system, accurately input and manage a high volume of bookings from end to end of the sales process
  • Manage technical materials delivery & return to clients
  • Work with leadership team to set and track annual revenue targets
  • Perform financial analyses to help greenlight decision-making on sales initiatives and title releases - and post launch assessment of revenue performance and ROI
  • Prepare regular and ad hoc reports for leadership team
  • Line-management of Sales Director, North America.

 

THE PERSON

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a senior, proactive sales role within the film industry, with a proven track record of delivering revenue targets. They will bring strong theatrical sales expertise, having successfully sold to cinema chains and independent cinemas, as well as experience in repertory (library classics) and festival bookings. Previous sales experience at a major US film studio, particularly in North America, will be highly valued, alongside a broad understanding of film distribution, licensing, rights, and contracts.

 

Strong commercial and financial skills are essential, including budgeting, re-forecasting, and P&L management. You will demonstrate entrepreneurial drive as a self-starter, with the ability to manage thousands of bookings each year across cinema chains, indie cinemas, and festivals.

 

In addition, you will possess deep knowledge of film digital delivery formats and processes, as well as practical expertise in print shipping and delivery procedures for North America.

 

A passion for cinema, particularly classic film, is essential, together with a commitment to superlative customer service and the highest standards of professional integrity.
