Machine Room Supervisor – S4722

You will lead and guide on the technical aspects of the machine room throughout the post-production process.


Our client is a specialist audio-visual and design company which works alongside leading distributors and broadcasters to create innovative campaigns.


As the Machine Room Supervisor, you will lead and manage material across multiple sites for offline and online edits, ensuring the smooth running of the technical aspects of the post-production process.

Key Responsibilities -  

  • Technical coordination and management of machine room resources
  • Troubleshoot all technically difficulties including software, hardware, addressing and flagging where support is required
  • Responsible for the daily upkeep of Avid, Premiere, Nexus and storage systems
  • Have a full understanding of, and ensure best practice in asset management, film formats, workflow orchestration, transcoding, QC, delivery, video and audio process
  • Oversee all projects from concept to delivery
  • Material ingest, sequence prepping, rendering, conforms, exports, mix-down, WIPS, source lists, AAF (EDL OMFI), relinking offline media, upkeep of databases.


With solid experience working in a machine room environment, you will have a working knowledge of Avid Media Composer, Nexis, basic video effects programmes and audio plug-ins.  

You will have a strong understanding of frame rates, time-code, aspect ratios, resolutions, common track layouts, digital video codecs, conversion tools, video scanning and colour spaces.

A confident self-motivated worker, you will demonstrate excellent communication skills.

Ideally, you will have familiarity with utilising Avid Symphony and leading the finishing process would be useful, but this is not essential.
