Digital Community Manager - Tipping Point
ITV daytime game show Tipping Point, are looking for a Digital Community Manager to support the upkeep of their social media platforms. 

This is a great role for someone looking to enter into the digital entertainment industry. 

About the Role

The Digital Community Manager will be working for RDF Television one of the top 20 biggest production companies in the UK. It has offices in West London and Bristol. Founded in 1993, it has established an outstanding reputation for producing popular and innovative programmes including The Crystal Maze, Tipping Point, Eat Well For Less? and Shipwrecked.

 

This is a 6-month London based position with some potential travel to Bristol. A small amount of flexible working will be expected around broadcasts but the working week will be 37.5 hours. Applicants without any relevant experience should not apply.


Key Responsibilities:

  • As directed by Digital Exec, day to day upkeep of key RDF / RDF West social media accounts (focusing on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) - engaging with each community speaking in  the tone of voice appropriate to the production
  • Content scheduling using tools such as Hootsuite, Twitter Studio, Buffer
  • Content creation: including images, memes, videos plus their subtitles
  • Work with the production team and Digital Exec to continually develop the social strategy for the show, showing creative flair and an understanding of audience behaviour online
  • Pinpoint influential accounts and engage with them either directly online or pre-arrange influencer outreach offline
  • Provide insight and analysis of all platforms, monitoring effectiveness of content
  • Ability to interpret and present data in a clear and concise manner for key internal and external parties
  • Responsible for compliance of copy and visuals in line with the channel’s guidelines and OFFCOM
  • Awareness of daily digital and social trends, and using them to inform what content is published. Able to modify and pivot quickly for breaking trends
  • Manage accounts during broadcast, knowing when to engage and when to flag or refer up any issues that occur
  • Working out of hours and weekends depending on broadcast schedules.

  • Creative and passionate about social media (and ideally television).

Key Skills:

  • Community management: able to build rapport / relationship with followers, can maintain calm when handling complaints,  understands the importance of tone of voice when running social media channels
  • Creative in Nature: basic image creation, good eye for aesthetics, can improvise, good sense of humour
  • Organised and Efficient: goal orientated / can prioritise tasks and manage time around broadcasts
  • Adaptive: Able to modify content to suit emerging trends
  • Copywriting: Can convey a message within a short number of characters and is consistent with checking spelling, grammar and context
  • Strategic: understanding what works, what doesn’t and why
  • Decisive: Has the confidence (once trained) to reply to issues and refer up if necessary
  • Analytical: Understands and takes an interest in the data in order to develop the strategy as time goes on.
