Executive Consultant - News Organisation
A senior advisory position for a global news broadcaster in their new state-of-the-art facilities in London.


Our client is an international broadcaster, with offices across the globe on several continents. They specialise in providing news and current affairs content for their television channels and digital platforms. Their TV news channels are available globally on most major satellite and cable platforms, plus an extensive digital footprint across social media.

With a recently launched start-up HQ in London, our client is seeking to create a significant news operation to cover Europe, with the ultimate aim to build a well-staffed hub producing news content for their global channels.


The successful candidate will advise on all operational and regulatory matters and serve as a bridge between the regional and international operation as the channel develops its international hub.

The client is looking for a seasoned news executive with a strong track record, and highly respected by their peers who can advise on all aspects of the establishment of the U.K./Europe broadcast operation and its integration into the rest of the network production system and digital/social media platforms, including advising and acting on matters such as:

  • Staff recruiting
  • Work flow and organization
  • UK broadcast environment, rules, regulations, practices
  • Programming and programme development
  • Global market strategy in digital and broadcast areas
  • Television and digital convergence
  • Mentoring of staff
  • Clear and candid advice to management with an outside perspective.

The position is offered on a rolling contract basis.


The client is looking for a seasoned news executive with a strong track record, and highly respected by their peers .


The successful candidate will have:

  • Degree in Journalism, Communications, or related international field
  • Extensive experience in television news (or digital) and management experience, with a track record at a senior level
  • International news gathering, production, and television/digital field experience – including operational management experience
  • Great connections to the UK television news industry
  • Experience of working in a multi-cultural business and comfortable working with culturally diverse business and media practices. 
  • Start up and channel launch experience would be very helpful.
