DI Coordinator / Grading Support
Molinare is looking to recruit a DI Coordinator / Grading Support to work in the Digital Intermediate/Grading departments of our busy Soho facility. 

You will form part of the DI team and will work to deliver optimum technical efficiency.

The Role

In this role, you will:

  • provide in-depth technical and workflow support to the Colourist, Online Editor, Post Production Manager, other Molinare staff and clients on a project-specific basis throughout Molinare’s DI processes. 
  • coordinate the work activities of the DI Operator team and monitor the consistency and quality of the work. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the work undertaken on all assigned projects as they progress through the DI department, ensuring that there is consistency throughout the project(s).
  • Gain an understanding of the project in advance by liaising – and attending meetings - with the Sales team, the Post Production Manager, relevant Molinare technical staff and relevant members of the production.
  • Ensure the project is set-up and facilitated in the most technically and time efficient manner possible and that the relevant people are aware of the workflow.
  • Monitor the progress of the conform and attend spotting sessions.
  • Update projects whilst ensuring there are consistent grades for updated visual effects shots, online effects
    shots and editorial changes. 
  • Adjust grades when required, ensuring any changes or updates are
  • Ensure the documentation of projects is kept up-to-date (VFX lists, cut versions, LUTs used etc.)

Candidate Requirements:

  • Exhibits strong proficiency using Baselight and other colour correction platforms; knowledge of other NLE systems is advantageous
  • Knowledge of modern conform workflows and conform materials such as, EDLs, AAFs, XMLs, post production workflows, equipment, infrastructure and understanding the implications of decisions and actions to the workflow.
  • Understand the theory and practice of DI/Grading processes, including: colourspaces; LUTs; mapping, scaling and formatting images; frame rates and frame rate conversions; video, film and DCP formats; picture ratios; and the technical requirements of all aspects of the DI/Grading process.
  • Knowledge of industry camera/digital formats and an understanding of how to process these for use in Baselight suites or other DI/Grading processes.
  • Knowledge of creating high end deliverable masters for film studios and streaming platforms.
  • Knowledge of colour pipelines including Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG
  • Understanding of broadcast specifications and QC processes.
