QC Lead/Media Operator
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quality Control Media Operator to join our highly skilled team working within our Bedfordshire facility.

Role Summary:     

The Quality Control/Media operator must have a complete understanding of television broadcast standards required for worldwide distribution. They must be able to detect, identify and offer solutions for problems found including 4K /UHD SDR & HDR using Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer and other industry standard NLEs.

He or she will need to complete complex QAR templated reports on problems found and make sure that this information is supplied to all relevant parties within the company and externally. In addition, this role is required to perform content processing activities such as basic editing, transcoding and file delivery duties

Key Duties

Working with the senior operations team to:

  • Perform quality control assessments of on a wide variety of file and tape-based content
  • Document the results into dedicated XLS based templates
  • Communicate the results internally and externally
  • Edit in Premiere to fix or create new media
  • File management and housekeeping of source and deliverable files.
  • Produce file deliverables against various Broadcast and VOD platform specifications.

Person Specification

Key Skills:

  • A high degree of technical understanding of television production processes is required
  • A high level of IT operations is essential
  • Knowledge of modern digital media technology
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent eyesight and hearing.
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail with an ability to maintain excellent working standards under pressure.
  • Educated to a GCSE standard or above, ideally with a Production / Technical qualification.
  • Well organised with an appreciation for the importance of file naming and file management working practises
  • IT literate – a basic understanding of Production network IT would be an advantage.
  • A professional and positive attitude, with a flexible can-do approach.

  • Hours: Shift based 40 hours per week which may include weekend work as dictated by business and operational needs.
  • Reporting to: Production Manager.
