Studio Director
A key role at our market-leading channel, The Craft Store.

You'll take all elements of Studio production and ensure they work together to provide an effective sales tool.
Job Purpose: You will be responsible for live studio output, mainly through direction and vision mixing live multi camera output via manned cameras and robotics.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
  • Responsible for live studio output
  • Follow & translate editorial into matching shots
  • Follow correct Gallery etiquette and protocols
  • Integrating sound & vision to make good programming
  • Ability to make split second decisions in a live gallery environment
  • Assessment of visual output from studio including shot framing focus & technical quality
  • Assessment of audio output from studio including correct relative levels of sources and quality of Audio
  • Working closely with both Producers, Buyers, Backstage and Presenters to ensure the aims of the show are met visually
  • Supervise playback of VT into studio productions
  • Thoroughly prepping all products before they go to air enabling a good understanding of how to shoot the product in its best light
  • Working closely with Backstage, Presenters, guests and Producer to maximise potential revenue
  • Liaise with all departments to ensure all elements of the show happen correctly and run smoothly
  • Check VT before programme to ensure they go to air correctly.

Skills/Competencies required:
  • Multi skilled, quick thinker able to work well under pressure.
  • Experience of Directing & Vision mixing live multi camera output
  • Experience of robotic controlled cameras is an advantage but not necessary
  • Strong team leader with initiative able to lead as well as work within a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Demonstrates creativity in work
  • Excellent organisational skills.

  • Location: The position is based at our studios at Oundle, Peterborough. 
  • Remuneration: The salary range for this position is £19,000 - £24,000, dependent on experience.
