Studio Electrician

We are looking for Studio Electrician to join one of Britain's leading production and post-production facilities.

Offering Oscar winning Sound, Stages and Picture post-production across Film and TV projects for International and US high profile Film Studios as well as Independent Films and all key Streaming platforms.


PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB 

The Studio Electrician is primarily responsible for maintaining the electrical systems of the studio and post-production site. The candidate should constantly look to improve organisational processes and work to advance quality, productivity, safety and efficiency of the studio operations and facilities.


The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, welcoming and be able to multi-task, especially at peak times.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assemble, install, test, operate and maintain electrical systems, equipment and appliances
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems and equipment, to locate the cause of breakdown and correct the problem
  • Inspect electrical systems to identify hazards or defects and to ensure safety compliance
  • Carry out small electrical installations works and modifications to existing systems
  • Able to do PAT testing of electrical equipment
  • React to all emergency scenarios and implement a permanent or temporary safe fix to reduce down-time
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance tasks
  • Ensure all maintenance activities and procedures adhere to health and safety legislation and best practice guidelines.
  • Provide out of hours electrical cover to the Stages clients of the studio
  • You will be required to maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment
  • Ensure the Maintenance team consistently deliver an excellent level of customer service to all on and off-site clients.


SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Fully qualified “Approved Electrician” with accreditation and knowledge of 3 phase distribution system
  • Suitable electrical competence qualification including relevant testing and inspection qualification
  • Be able to respond to emergencies in and out of normal working hours
  • Awareness of Electricity Supply Regulation
  • Awareness of Electricity at Work
  • Full working knowledge and adherence to H&S standards
  • Be adaptable to last minute changes and flexibility to work outside normal working hours, including weekend and bank holidays
  • Some knowledge of studio operations, including production and post-production facilities.
  • Basic knowledge of other maintenance skills
