Technical Support Engineer

Films at 59 are looking for a Technical Support Engineer to join our team.

As a Technical Support Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining the infrastructure that supports our high-end post production workflows. You’ll ensure system stability across editing, audio, and operations by resolving technical issues and minimising downtime. Working closely with clients and internal teams, you’ll diagnose and resolve software, hardware, and network problems, helping deliver reliable and secure IT systems for the media and broadcast industry.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Provide front-line technical support for hardware, networks, and Linux-based systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues across Linux, Windows and Mac platforms
  • Maintain and improve internal server and networking systems (including hypervisors and Docker containers)
  • Support phone networks and physical hardware deployments
  • Document support processes and contribute to internal knowledge sharing
  • Participate in scheduled on-call rotation to meet support SLAs.

 

You must have:

  • Strong Linux system administration skills
  • Experience with virtualization and hypervisors (e.g. Proxmox, VMware, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of Docker and containerized environments
  • Familiarity with FOSS tools and platforms
  • Solid understanding of networking protocols, firewalls, DNS, and IP routing
  • Experience with computer hardware support and phone system maintenance
  • Ability to manage support tickets, communicate clearly, and work independently under pressure
  • A proactive, analytical mindset with strong attention to detail

 

Bonus if you have:

  • Exposure to shared storage systems (e.g. NAS, SAN)
  • Understanding of post production environments and media workflows
  • Familiarity with post production tools and software such as Baselight, Flame, Resolve, Avid etc...
