Offline Services Supervisor

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our offline department.

As an Offline Services Supervisor, you will be the designated point of contact for both internal staff and external clients for select projects whilst in Offline. These projects will primarily (but not exclusively) be linked to the Envy Offline building where you are based. These projects can be both working locally in Envy suites and working remotely.


Main Responsibilities: 

  • If there are problems with any of your projects, which is prevent a client from working you must keep Offline Bookings and Envy Post Producers up to date on the progress of the issues, what is being done to rectify the issue and if it needs escalating up to Engineering
  • You will help mentor junior members of staff and make sure Envy workflows and best practices are followed. If these standards are not met you will make sure Head of Offline Services, Head of Ingest and Staff Development Manager are made aware so additional training can be provided
  • You will work closely with Postproduction Coordinator’s from Offline Bookings to make sure booked in jobs are presented in a way that is easy to follow and help them respond to clients with responses to technical questions
  • As Offline Services Supervisor you will oversee and assist with tasks performed locally in your Offline building this can involve but not limited to Avid ingests, exports (review files, EDLs, AAFs etc), locks, syncing & grouping
  • If assistants cannot resolve a software or hardware related issue, this will be escalated to you to try and resolve before progressing to the Engineering department
  • There may be times where your technical abilities may be needed to assist with the Engineering department, this could involve setting up new suites/k of kit or assisting with the roll out of new software or scheduled upgrades to existing infrastructure
  • As Offline Services Supervisor you will maintain good working relationships with the clients on your designated projects.


Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge of Avid Media Composer
  • Excellent syncing and grouping skills using Avid Media Composer
  • Good knowledge of full post-production process
  • Good knowledge of the following programs desirable: 
    • CETA
    • Tiger Spaces
    • Content Agent May 2025 Blackbird
    • Syncovery
    • Hedge (Offshoot) 
    • StorageDNA 
  • Additional knowledge of Premiere Pro and Da Vinci Resolve is an advantage
  • Additional ability to conform, pre-grade and QC is useful but not imperative
  • Strong knowledge of different video codecs and file types
  • Experience in managing and accessing various storage solutions, including local drives, external devices, and network-attached storage
  • Excellent troubleshooting abilities
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and multi-task when needed
  • Ability to remain calm and professional. 


Working Days/Hours: primarily Monday – Friday (working day shifts) based, but weekend or night work may be required on rare occasions for operational needs.
