Technical Manager

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Technical Manager to oversee and manage all technical aspects of our production processes.

Based: Chiswick office / On location 

Reports to: Head of Social & Digital/ Director of Production

Start Date: asap initially on a part time basis (3 days a week)

End Date: 28th November 2025 with a view to extend

Hybrid:  3 days working from the office and two days from home.


This role is critical in ensuring the seamless operation of our filming, all equipment, rushes management, ingest workflows, editing systems, and providing technical support to the production team whilst managing the day to day of our online platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Equipment Management:
    • Oversee the maintenance, inventory, and functionality of all filming equipment and accessories
    • Ensure all equipment is in optimal condition and conducting regular checks
    • Creating a signing out process with the team.
  2. Rushes Management and Ingest:
    • Manage the ingestion of rushes from shoots, ensuring file integrity and proper organization
    • Implement and maintain workflows for efficient storage, logging, and access to footage
    • Overseeing the archived owned assets and deliverables making accessible to the team including editors who work remotely. Working with our third party suppliers on sharing content.
  3. Archive:
    • Consolidating the archive library and keeping it up to date.
  4. Workflow Development:
    • Design and optimize technical workflows for production, editing, and post-production.
    • Ensure workflows align with project requirements and industry standards.
  5. Editing and Post-Production support:
    • Maintain and troubleshoot editing systems and software.
    • Provide guidance on technical challenges during the editing and post-production phases
    • Support the team with editing in house content
  6. Technical Support:
    • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for the production team
    • Resolve technical issues promptly to minimize downtime and disruptions
    • Conduct training sessions to upskill team members on technical tools and workflows.
  7. Documentation and Compliance:
    • Maintain thorough documentation of workflows, processes, and technical standards
    • Ensure compliance with data management and security protocols.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in a technical management or similar role within the media/production industry
  • Strong knowledge of camera systems, file-based workflows, and post-production software
  • Proficiency in editing platforms such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid , or Final Cut Pro
  • Familiarity with asset management systems and data archiving solutions
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot under pressure
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
