Senior Content Producer

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Content Producer to join the Prime Minister’s digital team at 10 Downing Street. 

This is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of government, creating best-in‑class digital content that informs, inspires, and connects with millions of people across the UK.
Job description
  • Develop and deliver high impact digital content that explains government policy and why it matters to the public, using video, graphics‑ and creative storytelling
  • Plan, produce and edit content for the Plan for Change content, ensuring clear narratives, timely delivery and alignment with wider communication priorities
  • Translate complex policy into accessible, audience-led‑ digital content across multiple platforms
  • Use insights and analytics to inform content planning, optimisation and innovation.
  • Drive creative ideas, exploring new formats, trends and tools to keep our output fresh and engaging
  • Lead end-to-end‑ production workflows, from concept development and scripting through to filming, editing and final delivery
  • Ensure all content is accurate, on brand, accessible and aligned with government communications objectives
  • Collaborate with internal teams, content creators, and external stakeholders to source, shape and deliver content
  • Manage and maintain content archives and workflows for efficient and collaborative production
  • Work with senior political stakeholders to ensure content produced is in line with the digital team’s strategic direction
  • Line manage and oversee the day today work of junior content team members, setting clear objectives and driving continuous development.

Person specification

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a content producer with a portfolio of high impact‑, creative projects delivered from start to finish
  • Demonstrable ability to work at pace and handle multiple projects, meeting tight deadlines without compromising quality
  • Extensive experience creating and editing short‑form video and graphics for social platforms, optimised for different audiences and channels
  • Advanced technical expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Strong awareness of how content supports wider communications and media strategy
  • Political awareness, discretion and professionalism when working around senior figures
  • Confident stakeholder management with a collaborative and supportive approach
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience pitching ideas and leading creative discussions
  • Deep knowledge of current design, photography, video and social trends, with the creative flair to innovate and challenge where needed
  • Positive, proactive attitude and the ability to lead by example in a high-pressure, ‑high-profile‑ environment.


Additional information:

A minimum 60% of your working time should be spent at your principal workplace. Although requirements to attend other locations for official business will also count towards this level of attendance.
