Product Development Assistant (7-month contract)

We are looking for an organised, creative, and detail-focused Product Development Assistant to join our Licensing team to help us deliver high quality consumer products, which include The Gruffalo, that reflect the magic of our award-winning brands.

Working closely with the Acting Product Development Manager and Product Development Executive, you’ll play a key role in the approvals process, asset management, and presentation creation, as well as supporting day-to-day operations and special projects.


What you’ll do:

  • Assist with reviewing and approving licensed merchandise and packaging – from initial designs to final samples
  • Ensure all products reflect brand values and follow style guides
  • Manage the online approvals and asset management system
  • Organise and distribute contractual product samples to stakeholders
  • Maintain product archives, office displays, and storage
  • Keep product launch trackers and asset files up to date
  • Support the creation of brand and licensee presentations
  • Research competitor products and track online product reviews
  • Help prepare for tradeshows, licensing events, and award submissions
  • Carry out general administrative duties to support the team.


What we’re looking for:

  • A self-starter who is proactive, motivated, and able to manage their own workload
  • Candidates with 12-24 months of hands-on experience in a similar role
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Clear, confident communication skills – both written and verbal
  • The ability to balance multiple projects and deadlines
  • A collaborative team player with a flexible, positive approach
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Experience in product development, licensing, or creative industries is a plus, but not essential.
