As part of our growth and commitment to nurture emerging talent, we are seeking an motivated and proactive Technical Trainee to join our team on a full-time basis.
The Role: As a Technical Trainee, you will work with our in house team supporting camera rental, VFX capture systems, data management, vehicle rigging, and general technical operations. You will learn hands‑on, develop technical skills, and assist senior engineers and technicians in delivering complex projects.
You will: - Drive company vans as needed - delivery or collection of equipment (though infrequent this may be during unsociable hours)
- Support operations: camera and equipment prep, troubleshooting
- Assist in the setup, maintenance, calibration, and testing of camera, lens, vehicle, camera and stabilisation system
- Help build and configure cameras, lenses, vehicle systems, virtual production camera arrays, computer based video capture systems and assist in post: camera file ingest and logging
- Assist the engineering team to design / prototype / manufacture or test new tools or workflows
- Stay current on new camera, sensor, and VFX / Virtual Production technology.
We are looking for: - Genuine passion for technology and engineering particularly in relation to film, cameras, visual effects, virtual production, or related fields
- Technical hands-on aptitude - comfortable with any and all electronics, cameras, cars, computers
- Some experience (even personal / student) with cameras, post workflows, visual effects, 3D printing, machining, making
- Full UK Driving License essential in order to facilitate occasional equipment deliveries
- Strong problem solver — willingness to jump in and troubleshoot under pressure whilst showing good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Collaborative mindset and good communication skills
- Ability to learn fast, adapt, and self‑drive
- Experience or training in film/ engineering/ mechanical or technical discipline (advantageous but not strictly required).

Duration / Compensation & Progression: - This is initially a trainee / entry‑level position
- This is a full time (40hrs per week) position following 3 month probation period
- Salary circa 23k-25k (dependent on experience)
- After training period, high potential for progression within the company to a full technical / engineering or operations role.
