The Team: The Sun’s digital product teams are dedicated to the development and continuous enhancement of our portfolio, which includes websites, apps, and other digital platforms. These digital properties are integral to the ongoing success and growth of The Sun brand.
We operate as an agile, cross-functional programme, collaborating to ensure our digital products consistently meet the evolving needs of both the business and our audience. This involves enhancing the user experience, optimising the underlying platform, and refining operational tools to empower our teams and deliver excellence.
Role Objectives: Develop and own a clear, long-term vision for The Sun’s digital products, aligning with the wider goals of our global business, brands, and technology, while adapting to industry trends and audience needs Recruit, develop, and inspire a passionate and skilled Product team, fostering a culture of empowerment, innovation, and continuous growth Promote a culture of creativity, problem solving, and collaboration within the Product team and across the business, driving alignment with editorial, commercial, customer, and technology teams Drive the evolution of digital capabilities to support the business’s vision, ensuring sustainable, cost-effective, and future-ready platforms, particularly across app, video and membership offerings, as well as across editorial tooling, capabilities and workflows Monitor trends and innovations in acquisition, monetisation, identity, and paywall tools, integrating cutting-edge thinking into the Product strategy Ensure The Sun’s digital platforms deliver outstanding user experiences that drive engagement, retention, and revenue growth Lead the development of multi-format capabilities across The Sun’s digital platforms, ensuring all content is seamlessly integrated, engaging, and optimised for audience growth and revenue generation.
Key Skills & Requirements: Extensive experience leading digital product management in an audience-focused, digital-first environment Experienced in working within a publisher environment, with the ability to balance editorial priorities, brand identity, and commercial objectives to create successful digital products Strong communication and relationship-building skills, adept at bridging business and technical teams and managing senior stakeholders Deep understanding of app, video and membership eco-systems A track record of driving innovation, launching successful features, products, and services, and delivering measurable business impact Proficient in agile methodologies, with experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality outcomes Passionate about emerging trends, technologies, and tools, with the ability to integrate them into strategies and product roadmaps Skilled in navigating complex challenges with agility and creativity, maintaining focus on business goals and user needs Comfortable using data and analytics to inform product decisions, prioritise initiatives, and measure success Experienced in building, mentoring, and empowering high-performing teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture.
