Are you highly organised, detail-oriented, and excited by the prospect of working with bestselling authors and beloved brands such as Peppa Pig, Roald Dahl, and Bluey?

Do you thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and enjoy turning creative ideas into commercial opportunities?

About Penguin
We’re the UK’s largest publisher; made up of some 2,000 people and publishing over 1,500 books each year. Our doors are open to all kinds of talent. In a constantly evolving industry, we work hard to stretch the definition of the word publisher. Here, you’ll work with a breadth of talent who all play their part to make each of our books a success. Together, we make books for everyone because a book can change

  • The Opportunity

Our Business Development team drives growth opportunities and incremental revenue across Penguin Random House UK’s international business. We work globally to find new ways to sell and adapt our books – creating bespoke editions, exclusive formats, and tailored publishing for international partners. As Business Development Executive, you’ll manage projects from concept to delivery, supporting our Custom Publishing business and collaborating closely with colleagues in Sales, Editorial, Production, and Design. You’ll contribute ideas, manage costings, and ensure products are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standard.

This is an exciting chance to gain broad exposure across the publishing process while playing a key role in a dynamic and supportive team that champions creativity, problem-solving, and commercial flair.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage publishing projects from start to finish, coordinating costings, schedules, and orders
  • Analyse trends and sales data, providing insight and recommendations
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop new product ideas for key markets
  • Create tailored presentations and materials for customers and internal meetings.

What You’ll Bring

You’ll be a confident communicator with strong organisational skills and an analytical mindset. Comfortable juggling multiple priorities, you’ll combine meticulous attention to detail with a positive, proactive approach. You’ll also bring:

  • Strong commercial awareness and confidence managing costings and data
  • The ability to build relationships and work effectively with multiple stakeholders
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and enthusiasm for publishing and sales

Experience in publishing or custom product development is beneficial but not essential.

Salary:

  • Circa £30,000 dependent on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus benefits.
