The Presentation Editor is responsible for the creation, development and handover of highly accurate daily transmission schedules for the linear portfolio. 

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

Presentation is part of Content Management, a business-critical, responsive department that performs a wide range of tasks to support the delivery of content to the linear channels and streaming.
 
The Presentation Team is responsible for providing faultless and distinctive daily transmission schedules for Channel 4, E4, More 4, Film 4, 4Seven,  E4 Extra & the Fast Channels: 4Reality, 4Homes & 4Life.

JOB PURPOSE

The Presentation Editor is responsible for the creation, development and handover of highly accurate daily transmission schedules for the linear portfolio. All schedules must be compliant, meet Channel4’s values and are proactively managed to meet all necessary requirements and changes. The role has ownership and accountability of nominated days, developing those days from creation through to processing the as-runs. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • End to end ownership and accountability for nominated schedules from creation, development, press, to handing-over and processing the as-runs
  • Creation of the graphics make list, bringing a consistent approach to the commissioning of graphics
  • Manage schedule timings to meet all editorial, regulatory and legal & compliance requirements 
  • Handing over completed schedules to the Duty Desk in readiness for final exports to Playout
  • Supporting the Duty Desk post-handover of schedules
  • Attend the read-throughs with the Announcers, Duty Desk and Media Planning
  • Work collaboratively and respond flexibly with the enquiries and demands of Commissioning, Portfolio Planning, Programme Management, Legal, Sales, Sponsorship, Streaming, Marketing and other stakeholders 
  • Proactively manage schedule changes and post listings 
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the Disaster Recovery & Obituary procedures
  • Provide cover for team when required and train new team members 
  • Forge strong proactive stakeholder relationships with Portfolio Planning, Commercial Content Management, Traffic, Media Planning & Broadcast Operations
  • On occasion there may be a requirement to work out of hours or to be on-call. 


ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Demonstrable skills gained from working in a reactive Presentation environment
  • Demonstrable editorial skills and knowledge for signing off schedules for broadcast, all work will have a direct on-air impact across the Channel 4 network
  • Excellent time management, organisational and forward Planning skills
  • Highly accurate and a strong attention to detail
  • Has strong team working skills.
