Post Production and Edit Support Engineer

Coda Post Production has an opportunity for a Post Production and Edit Support Engineer.

About Us

Coda is a well-established boutique post-production facility, specialising in high-end picture and audio, from documentaries to commercials to promos and feature films. 


We work closely with high-profile broadcasters and production companies producing factual, scripted and short-form content for BBC, Discovery, Netflix, Channel 4, Channel 5, Sky, Virgin Media, Nat Geo and Disney to name a few.  We have two facilities in London Fitzrovia W1, and a third facility in the heart of The Lanes in Brighton.


The Role

Your main tasks and responsibilities are:

  • maintaining our servers, networks, offline, grade, and online suites across our three facilities

  • installing edit software and maintaining hardware

  • taking on daily IT and network administration tasks

  • supporting our editors, colourists, mixers and producers
  • maintaining and devising backup solutions both locally and to cloud storage.


Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • a strong IT knowledge
  • an excellent understating of post-production processes

  • the desire to learn quickly
  • the ability to build and maintain PCs
  • a strong working knowledge of Avid Nexis and other shared storage devices 
  • a good working knowledge of Avid Media Composer, Pro Tools, Adobe Premiere, and DaVinci Resolve
  • a strong knowledge of IT networks
  • as we are a small, boutique company, the desire and willingness to work with our edit assistants on day-to-day edit assisting which can be tailored to your interests.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • calm and methodical approach even under pressure
  • an outstanding multitasker, able to prioritise and juggle many different aspects of the role
  • a good communicator and team player

  • able to take the initiative and problem-solve to tight deadlines

  • able to communicate complex technical workflows
  • hugely attentive to detail.

Previous Experience
The ideal candidate will be someone with existing experience as a junior engineer and / or a recent IT or post-production graduate who can demonstrate strong enthusiasm for the role and its demands and rewards.


Salary

£30,000 to £40,000 per annum depending on skills and experience.
