Planning Executive

We’re looking for someone to join our team as a Planning Executive, supporting the scheduling and delivery of the MTV and Comedy Central channels in the UK and Ireland.

This role would suit someone who enjoys working with schedules, data, and teams across the business, and who is interested in how TV channels are planned and delivered.

What you’ll be doing

  • Manage planning schedules for the MTV and Comedy Central channels, making sure information is accurate and complete
  • Enter and maintain schedules using the What’s On scheduling system
  • Create and manage EPG schedules, acting as a key contact for EPG-related queries
  • Support Channel Managers with schedule changes and releases, and act as the operational contact for these updates
  • Coordinate press day activity, including distributing schedules for press exchanges
  • Share editorial feedback on programming under consideration from internal teams and external distributors
  • Research audience and content trends to support future planning
  • Assist with scheduling for MTV and Comedy Central VOD services when required
  • Track transmission counts and expiry dates for acquired programming
  • Process billings and pre-press emails
  • Ensure month-end data is accurate and up to date for Finance
  • Check that programme rights are followed correctly
  • Share transmission information when requested and work closely with other departments on scheduling-related queries.

What we’re looking for?

You don’t need to meet every requirement to apply. If this role interests you and you feel you could do the job, we’d encourage you to apply.

  • Strong attention to detail and an organised approach to work
  • Confidence solving problems and adapting when plans change
  • Experience with data entry or working with detailed information
  • Clear communication skills and comfort working with different teams
  • Good IT skills, including Excel, and the ability to learn new systems
  • Previous scheduling experience or use of systems such as What’s On is helpful but not essential.

How you’ll work

You’ll report to the Channel Managers for MTV and Comedy Central. The role is based in our Camden, London office, with a hybrid working pattern: at least two days per week in the office and the remaining days working from home.

At the start of the contract, you may spend more time in the office to support learning the What’s On system, understand our processes, and build strong working relationships with the team.
