Key Responsibilities
As a Technical Artist at Rocksteady, you will be located halfway between Art and Code, and will contribute to our art production pipeline, supporting content creators inside Unreal Engine 5.
With a strong understanding of the performance characteristics of art assets inside the UE5 Nanite / Lumen / Mega Lights environment, you will create and maintain content creation tools and Shaders, as well as advise the Art teams on content creation guidelines.
As a liaison between the Art teams and the engineering disciplines that support them, you will ensure the art teams can continue to produce state-of-the-art content efficiently, while monitoring, analysing and reporting on the findings of the various Technical Analyses the Tech Art team produces.
Technical Requirements
- Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (C++, C#, or Python)
- Strong understanding of linear algebra and real‑time graphics fundamentals
- Working knowledge of shader principles, including PBR workflows and HLSL
- Understanding of user‑friendly, efficient tools and workflows for art asset creation
- Knowledge of modern game‑art optimisation techniques, including Nanite‑based workflows
- Demonstrated artistic awareness in real‑time engines
- Creative problem‑solving skills for technical challenges
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, while also being confident working independently when needed.
Hybrid Working - This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, that combines remote and in-office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
