Senior Edit Assistant

Coda Post Production has an opportunity for an experienced edit assistant to join our team in the role of Senior Edit Assistant.

About Us


We work closely with high-profile broadcasters and production companies such as BBC, Discovery, Channel4, Channel5, Sky, Netflix and Disney to name a few, and work on broadcast factual, features, feature docs, drama, short-form commercial and digital content.   


We have three sites: two in Fitzrovia, W1, and a third in the heart of The Lanes in Brighton


The Role


The Main Tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and supporting offline, online and grade suites
  • Installing edit software and hardware
  • Taking the lead on advising and implementing workflows on specific projects
  • QCing to Broadcast standard
  • Conforming both long- and short-form content
  • Other tasks e.g. ingesting, syncing, grouping
  • Working effectively as part of a team and communicating clearly with our Head of MCR, engineer, edit assistants and post producers
  • Training and advising junior staff
  • shift pattern work with hours between 8am-8pm
  • working occasional weekends when required.


Candidate Requirements


Skills, Ability, Experience


Essential

The ideal candidate will have:

  • a minimum 2+ years' experience in a similar role within a post production environment
  • an excellent knowledge of Avid Media Composer
  • an excellent knowledge of Adobe Premiere
  • an excellent knowledge of DaVinci Resolve
  • extensive experience with shared storage systems (Avid Nexis, QNAP, Editshare)
  • extensive experience of file-based workflows
  • an excellent understanding of frame rates, formats and codecs
  • broadcast-standard QC knowledge ideally up to 4k and HDR spec
  • extensive experience creating deliverables to Broadcast Standard
  • an excellent knowledge of Windows and MacOS operating systems
  • experience with setting up and troubleshooting both edit suite hardware and software
  • experience with remote editing workflows (Jump Desktop)
  • excellent attention to detail.


Desirable

The ideal candidate will also have:

  • experience of online editing
  • an interest in colour grading and/or online editing.
