About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Technical Post Supervisor to join the team at The Edit. You'll be the first-line go-to in our post pipeline. Being on-hand for the technical team, whilst also working closely with our post producers day to day, and reporting directly to the Technical Director.

This is a hands-on role for someone with a good post-production track record and who understands how all the pieces fit together — from the point of receiving rushes through to finished, delivered programmes. You'll be comfortable moving between all aspects of the post pathway and helping others on the team do the same.

What you’ll be doing

  • Working to technical workflows across offline, online, colour, and audio post
  • Working closely with post producers to keep projects on track technically and proactively flagging potential issues early
  • Troubleshooting technical problems quickly and calmly
  • Overseeing QC and technical delivery to broadcast specifications
  • Supporting the maintenance and configuration of post systems including Avid, Resolve, Protools and associated infrastructure
  • Helping junior members of the team and contributing to a collaborative, technically strong culture within the company
  • Identifying opportunities to improve workflows and bringing ideas to the Technical Director.

What we’re looking for

You'll have broad, solid experience across the post timeline and an excellent understanding of broadcast standards, as well as having comprehensive experience of life in a busy post-production environment.

You'll know your way around broadcast technical specs — loudness standards, codec requirements, frame rate handling, HDR and SDR deliverables etc.

You’ll be someone who communicates clearly with producers, editorial and management - often under pressure, often across multiple projects at once.

You stay calm and you make the people around you feel supported, especially in challenging circumstances. If you've trained junior staff before, that's highly advantageous.

Details:

  • Hours: Full time. Monday - Friday
  • Location: Central Brighton (this is an in-person, not a remote working role)
  • Start date: As soon as possible
  • Contract duration: 6 months initially, with a view to extending
  • Salary: TBC dependent on experience.

Please send your CV with a cover letter online, via grapevinejobs.
