WE ARE BBC STUDIOS

A globally renowned media company borne of the BBC. We make and distribute the world’s most sought-after TV, audio and digital content.

Our ambition is to be the home of the most powerful, entertaining, and inspiring stories for people all around the world.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

We're looking for an HR professional to support the delivery of the People Strategy across our Scripted portfolio, helping to translate people strategy into practical solutions that enable creativity, collaboration and business success. At BBC Studios Scripted, we're home to the programmes audiences know and love – see a list of our programmes and production labels here.

WHY JOIN THE TEAM?

The role will support BBC Studios Scripted Productions, reporting into Head of HR and working alongside a HR Business Partner. The role also operates within a wider HR community, where there is opportunity to collaborate, partner, and lean on each other for support. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to broaden their experience, increase their organisational impact and develop their career within one of the world's leading creative businesses.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:

  • Act as a key point of contact for managers and employees, providing practical and commercially focused HR support
  • Build strong relationships across the business and People team to deliver consistent, effective people solutions
  • Support the delivery of culture and engagement initiatives that reinforce the behaviours and expectations set out in The Pledge, promoting respectful, inclusive and high-performing teams
  • Support cyclical people processes, including talent, performance, reward and workforce planning activities
  • Use people data and insights to identify trends, inform decisions and drive continuous improvement
  • Support organisational change and strategic people initiatives, deputising for the HR Business Partner when required.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • Naturally curious, asking thoughtful questions and seeking to understand root causes rather than simply addressing symptoms
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, identifying gaps, patterns and opportunities - using evidence to recommend improvements and drive better outcomes
  • A proactive and self-directed approach, taking ownership of priorities and delivering high-quality work with appropriate support and guidance
  • Comfortable using technology, data and emerging AI tools to enhance productivity, generate insights and support informed decision-making
  • Confidence handling sensitive or challenging conversations with professionalism, empathy and credibility
  • Able to operate effectively in environments where situations are not always clear, balancing business needs, employee experience and organisational priorities
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail.

DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:

  • Previous exposure to media, broadcasting, television production or other creative industries
  • Experience working within a shared services or centralised HR model
  • Experience supporting an HR partnering approach and working closely with senior stakeholders.

If you can bring some of these skills and experience, along with transferable strengths, we’d love to hear from you and encourage you to apply as soon as possible.

We appreciate your interest in this position and understand how important this opportunity is to you. Due to the high volume of interest we may need to close the application period earlier than anticipated. This step is necessary to ensure we can provide a high level of attention and service to all applicants. Thank you for your understanding.
