THE COMPANY
Our client is a successful film/TV studio with a global presence, a healthy production pipeline and a vast library of content.

THE ROLE
As a Legal and Business Affairs Manager, you will be responsible for managing legal and contractual activity throughout development and production.

You will work closely with creative leadership, producers, partners, platforms and the wider studio group.

Key responsibilities:
  • Oversee development negotiations, handle IP options, acquisitions and adaptation agreements with publishers, authors and rights holders
  • Draft and finalise writer and showrunner contracts, as well as other development‑stage talent agreements
  • Coordinate co‑development and co‑production dealmaking.
  • Manage commissioning arrangements with networks and platforms, guiding contractual discussions through to completion
  • Support producers through legal and financial closing
  • Provide ongoing production legal guidance, resolving day‑to‑day issues
  • Negotiate above‑the‑line talent agreements, including director, cast and HOD contracts
  • Advise on contractual matters relating to underlying agreements with talent and service providers
  • Act as the key link between production offices and studio operations, ensuring all requirements are met.

THE PERSON
You should have a background in UK scripted television, as well as relevant experience in development and production, alongside strong expertise in IP rights, literary adaptations and audiovisual agreements.

Working collaboratively with senior creatives, producers, partners and platforms will help you to be successful in this role, as will clear communication, and an organised approach to both development and production.

Confidence drafting and negotiating contracts is essential, as is the ability to manage multiple projects and deliver to tight deadlines.
